looking for cheap land for "homesteading" / rural area to be more self sufficient

I'm looking for at least 2 acres of land I would prefer about 5 acres. I need it to be mostly wooded with some mature trees. I am gonna be building a timber frame house about 700 sq feet and will be milling/ hewing the lumbar for the frame myself so I need the trees, prefer pine.

I am mainly looking at arkansas, missouri, or possibly kentucky. Mainly for the price of land and the climate/ growing season. I also need somewhere that has the 2nd amendment.

I know there are pros and cons of every state. I'm mainly leaning towards southern missouri south of I 44. I also like there's no state level building permits other than septic there. But I am not liking this state income tax and this personal property tax thing they have. I am reading and people are saying they tax you on everything you own every year and I read one guy bitching cause they must've used a drone to see he put up a chicken coop and they wanted to tax him for that etc. Idk where else to look at.

Does anybody know a good area for this where I can get land for like ~$2000 per acre ?
