CS:GO account just got banned because my name was Camel Jockey LOL

Been using Camel Jockey pics and that name since I started playing CS:GO back in 2015 (srs).

Was playing Path of Exile a few nights ago and saw on steam my CS:GO account name was suddenly just a bunch of numbers. I was like da fuk? Did I get hacked or some chit? So I put it back to Camel Jockey.

Log in tonight and see this message

you weren't banned, your account's been hijacked from a site that uses your API, probably a skins trading site or something

revoke API, change pass, turn on 2FA etc

I have gotten messages from friends on steam in the last couple weeks about mutual friend's accounts being hacked and to watch out, but I only read them and there was never any links to click on or anything. I've also never used a skin trading\buying site before.

Is it possible just from reading someone's steam message it hacked my account?

Damn CS is/was one the most raw and free FPS games ever. You could have any name you wanted and no-one gave a sh*t. Now we're banning names, recording voice coms to ban people etc. JFL. Have to contain and monitor everyone now right babe?

mfw my LoL username was changed to "ChanegdByAdmin" from the n word with a special character to bypass vulgarity filter and I emailed them demanding to correct the typo because it was triggering me and they actually did it
