new hampshire. short drive to Maine, Mass, Vermont, Rhode Island. No income tax--live free or die. Beautiful nature. low key lifestyle. would get a modest place on a few acres surrounded by trees and vibe out to good tunes and cocktails every evening.

Hmm ... what about Philadelphia? I hear the suburbs are comfortable, you get the exciting city life without the NYC congestion; yet not too far away, there is small-town life in the west (Lancaster).

Arizona would be legit if the houses hear Phoenix didn't look like crack houses. No smack talking the homes, the desert just isn't a good look for a family.

I would prefer grass, trees and concrete. Not sand, cactus, and astroturf.
