Tbh apart from John Legend, I can’t think of a single male MOBO artist or group who have contributed positively. Even pussies like drake generally just make music about the accumulation of wealth and material possessions.


There’s a reason I lift to HIP HOP and Grime.

It’s aggressive and full of ill will. Can’t listen to ONYX or Skepta without feeling like hooking some randoms gabber off

True. Previously the youth was liked by all and was the symbol of optimism and a bright future (50-70 years ago). Then youth culture started to form where the opinion leaders were promiscuous and on narcotics, and disassociated themselves from the rest of the population and was seen with disgust and degeneration

Degen culture can be traced back to the Scots and Northern Brits back in the late 17th century. It was also much more violent then. Hip hop is just the current flavor.

It’s been that way since the start.

Rap is pretty much completely devoid of any kind of moral self reflection or deep thinking. All it is is sex, drugs, money, etc. Instant gratification of all kinds and self indulgence.

There is no rap equivalent to Alice In Chains and the kind of deeper content a band like that puts out.

Not in todays mumble/trap rap.

But back in the day we had KRS-one, WuTang, etc...that made bangers but also put out conscious rap too.
