Slow day Lake trout fishing, but did manage this little guy. Will be good smoked.

Also slow day on the trapline, but did get these four Fisher.

More of an area, really and length of travel depends on many things.

My area is about 150-200,000 acres ish. Really tough to calculate.

They get skinned, dried on an industry standard form, and sent to international auctions. The carcasses go back to the forest in spring at about the same time a variety of critters are having little ones and benefit for the additional nutrition.

I think of it more as harvesting them.

If we kill them all, there is nothing left for next year. If we take a certain amount each year it is sustainable. Sure, they kill a lot of small critters, but biodiversity is a wonderful thing.
