I post stuff every so often, mostly outdoor related...pics of dead things, etc, and at the urging of some have decided to compile it into one thread.

I try and have as much respect for the animals I harvest as possible, and want to stress that being humane to animals is not to be confused with the absolute dumpster fire that is animal rights activism. The former having to do with humane harvest of animals, and the latter having to do with money flow...

Yes, I live off the meat I hunt, and at times trap, and legal hunting, fishing and trapping is sustainable and managed. The last thing I want is to kill all of something, or wipe something out and with modern management techniques, healthy populations of animals are the norm.

And if you just don't like killing animals, that's fine, but know that it is unavoidable if you are alive today.

Most people want to eat the burger, but don't want to meet the cow.

I have come to terms with being able to hunt, kill, butcher, store, and cook what I eat.

I know where and how my food lived, and am responsible for ending its life just as nature intended. Part of the cycle.

Everything dies, and animals killing and eating other animals is just part of how it works.

Actually way easier to get 200g protein per day as a vegetarian.

I actually do prefer what OP is doing than people who get their slabs of meat in cellophane from the store, but what he's saying to justify it is cope.
