Rappers going on and on about how much dough they have, pussy they get etc.

Not even just that though, flossing about a nice house, or posting pictures of their new cars, filming themselves giving their parents a car. If any normal person did any of this it would be cringy af.

The level of fame isn't even that high to make it cool either, mid tier rappers and athletes do this all the time, but if a regular guy posts a picture of their new ride and goes on about how fukking sikk it is and how they worked so hard and deserve it people would think they are conceited.

Because most people who are famous have actually accomplished something in life or at least have enough money to show something that most people haven't seen before.

Hearing someone talk about how they became number 1 in the world at something is interesting. Watching someone tour their 300 foot yacht that most plebs will never even see the inside of is interesting. Hearing about what it's like to be a professional singer is interesting.

Hearing some schlub brag about their leased 3 series isn't.

If you're referring to rappers and athletes in particular, I think it has to do with the demographic they cater to (young kids hoping to make it big in sports or entertainment).

In a professional or general setting though, there's noting more refreshing than dealing with someone who is humble but knows their chit.

Enh not really these people aren't all #1 in their field. If some millionaire buddy of yours starts stunting about how much dough they have and how great they are you are going to hate him.You are just wrong people idolize these guys.I guess but for example, Tom Brady just posted some video about how everyone doubted him and he proved them all wrong and he's amazing. Imagine a normal person did something like this about how many cars they sold that month or something bragging about their commission checks. It's tacky to talk about money until you are minorly famous I don't get the mindset behind it.

I'm not worried about it I just wonder why as soon as you reach a certain level of fame/status it is suddenly socially acceptable to brag about it and your accomplishments. I'm guilty of it as well when someone I know posts something about buying a new house or something I think "wow are you really so insecure you need to tell everyone that". Would feel like an absolute douchebag posting a picture of my new car or something.
