Spotify users
Been using Spotify premium for years. Until I randomly clicked on the video below (I don’t even have AirPod Max’s lol).
At 4:45 he starts the Spotify test. If you have on headphones is the best way to hear the test.
Cliffs of the video- Apple Music uses a superior form of streaming and makes a rather big difference in sound all around. Enough of a difference that I canceled my Spotify account and made an Apple Music account the minute I tested this out myself.
Bonus cliffs- to get best sound turn off Noise canceling and transparency mode on your headphones for best available quality. Of course use those modes when needed at the gym or traveling ect.
Inb4 Tidal users come in here guns blazing. Haven’t looked into that yet but no way they have 80 million songs like Apple Music

Did he turn the quality setting up on Spotify? Pretty sure it defaults to a standard quality.
Everything I’ve read on this subject says the difference is basically negligible.

I have airpod pros and both services and I always still use spotify. When I finish a playlist it will start picking random new songs to play that all fit the style of the playlist that just finished and most of the time, the new recommended songs are all on point.
Apple music doesn't have this and a lot of my playlists have been built using the recommended songs feature that spotify puts at the bottom of the playlist page.
Also, the music quality on Spotify by default is only 96 kbits/sec. I have mine set to 320 on both wifi and cellular and I can't tell any difference in quality and as far a loudness goes, there's a 3 option setting in spotify on how loud the playback is.
ALSO, I don't use apple home devices so playing music from spotify to one or all of our amazon echo's in the house is fun.

Question to anyone with iPhone, I downloaded Spotify and went through the settings to turn off all the stuff I thought was privacy related. I somehow toggled one over and now it says I’m offline when just on my phone internet.
It’s fine when I’m on WiFi but I can’t find the setting that makes it work with just my service provider.
Reps for answer and thanks to anyone who does.

I had the exact same problem with the Plex app on my kid's ipad. She must have hit don't allow on it's security prompt to talk to local network computers and I was racking my brain trying to figure out why, when it was on my wifi network, couldn't it see a movie server that everything else COULD see and that local network toggle was off.
