PSA: An HSA is an excellent retirement tool

If you're like the typical miscer you're already CEO 10k a day so please disregard this thread. If you're like the very small amount of miscers investing and saving for retirement this PSA is for you.

Along with your retirement account (401, Ira), stocks, bonds, and crypto an HSA is a great retirement tool and not widely used. Its pre-tax, you can invest it, and you can take out money to pay any medical related expense tax free. If you can pay your bills out of pocket, just keep your receipt and pull out cash up to 15 years later tax free.

You're a smooth brain if you dont take advantage of a HSA or FSA. My employer contributes to my HSA as well.

HSA is nice but you gotta do high deductible plan, which can mean you end up coming out behind.

In my situation its a $3K deductible, my employer pays all premiums, and puts $1,500 a year in my HSA.

I started utilizing HSA about a year ago because I found out it's accepted at my local weight loss clinic where I get my appetite suppressants.

Certain telemedicne TRT clinics also accept HSA and so I might just use my HSA towards a mini cycle (TRT).... and why not? I'd rather spend that money on optimizing my life rather than paying taxes on it which would ultimately be squandered on bullsh/t programs that democrat politicians waste our tax dollars on....

Yes, I’m a 3k deductible makes sense, but marketplace HSA plans for people that are self employed are around double that at 6900 deductible
