Counting Macros is Stupid
I've never had a problem bulking or cutting without counting macros.
There is not point in counting macros because there is no way to tell exactly how much of any macro is in a specific piece of food anyways without going through the process of using a food scale like some fuking goober.
Eating normal food and making most of your diet whole foods is all you need to do.

Even when eating a whole food diet you can still overeat in calories. That's great you don't have to but some people have to track and measure.

Agreed you only to track calories and protein intake, if you have a half decent diet than carbs/fats will naturally fall into place.

Just eat till you're full and focus on getting 0.5 - 0.75g/lb of protein.
If you're one of those betas that gets fat when their brain tells them to eat, sucks for you

Only count protein and calories crew
My trick is to overdose on protein and pray that by the end of the day I have almost sufficient bulking calories that I don't need to force-feed to remain in dat dere caloric surplus

I think it's worth strictly tracking your calories for even just a week at some point in your life if you want to seriously cut. In my experience I was way off on estimations before, things add up that you don't tend to think about.
