My dog whines constantly

It's to the point that I can no longer get a full night's sleep. Took him to the vet and they said he has dementia.

Anyone else have this problem?

Used to have a dog who, towards the end of his life would start whimpering the very second you were about to fall asleep. Happened for months straight. It's like he knew and could tell the moment we were able to zonk out. He ended up with some weird sores that burst from the inside and died after a months on an IV off and on. My guess is he's trying to tell you something.

Current doggo is ageing and vet brought him back from near death after a fast acting diabetes onset.
