Question about beard growth

So I started growing very thick and beautiful hair on my chin when I was in 10th grade, before all my peers. Its been 5 years later and I still mainly only grow facial hair on my chin and moustache, (with the occasional long single hair strands on the side of my face which I find gross looking).

Which I find weird because my dad and brother had full beards on their jaws and cheeks at my age. I'm just wondering if I will only be able to grow facial hair on just my chin and moustache forever. I want a full beard on my jawline/cheeks because I have a nice jawline and I think that would looksmax me to a great extent.

My question for your brahs is, did you start out with just a chin strap and eventually were able to grow a full beard or did you just stay at the chin hair level for always. And if you did manage to evolve from chin hair to a full beard what age was it?

Also does that minoxidil chit work for beard growth or is it some bullish*t? Cuz I was thinking of hopping on.

How old are you?

I always rocked a goatee but it took near my 20s for the sides to grow in thicker.
Only thing that is slightly lacking now is the stache region.
All natty though, a lot of it it genetics imo.

I'm 19 but the thing that worries me is that the males in my family had full beards by 19-20. Do you think minoxidil works?

the sides are never as thick as the chin area.

you have to grow the whole beard until the sides look less patchy (if they ever do, some people just can't) and trim the chin part accordingly once the sides have come through

thats the best beard you'll have.

Why not? I wanna see

and would something like minoxidil help those who can't?

Probably differing sensitivity to DHT.

I can grow full neck, sides and chin but have a chit tash. Happy enough with my jaw.

Try again in your mid twenties. Some people can't grow think beards until later in life. You might be one of them OP. You just have to be patient. Srs

Tbh I haven't experienced anything but some side effects are dry skin, darkening around the eyes, and heart palpitation.

I know this site hates reddit but there is a sub reddit called minoxbeard where you can see peoples progress. It works, obv how much still depends on your genetics but you should check it out.

I could only grow a mustache for years. Looking at my high school graduation pic, I’ve got a thick af mustache but nothing else. Not sure when the rest came in because I started clean shaving around age 20-25. At 25 I realized I could actually grow a full beard

I didn't grow real facial hair until 27. Could only grow an okay mustache and tons of hair on my neck and chin.

I have been growing a big beard for 1.5 years now. It took a year but my sideburns finally thickened up and look normal so I don't have to shave them down, and I am finally getting more hair on my cheeks. My cheek line is pretty high now. Otherwise I have a pretty thick legendary beard.

Here's how you know you will grow a full beard sooner or later; Do you have peach fuzz/vellus hair in all the empty "beard" areas? If so, these will transition into terminal hairs sooner or later. It can take years. The process can be sped up using minoxidil, works on most people, not all.

If you have zero peach fuzz/vellus hair certain places where your bread is suppose to fill inn, you are most likely doomed (ded fkn srs)

Isn't 19 too early to hop on that train?

Can't tell cuz I shave the side of my face for those little straggly long hairs but when I run my fingers over my jawline I can feel some stuble, very blond and hard to see. I guess that's a good sign.
