We are alone in the Universe

We are alone forever. Even if extraterrestrial life exists, there is no way to contact them. We are limited by the speed of light.

In order to travel long distances we would also be limited by this.

The worst thing is that our entire observable universe, which comprises hundreds of billions of galaxies, is only a grain of sand compared to what is not observable.

And this unobservable universe is eternally restricted from us.

There is no meaning to life.

We’re not alone though. We’re surrounded by an endless number of species. A lot of them actually quite intelligent in their own way.

Dolphins and whales have their own language we just haven’t deciphered yet.

Gorillas and elephants are both extremely intelligent.

And your doggos have formed a bond to us that’s arguably stronger than anything we even have between each other.


We don’t need to find another life form on another planet in another galaxy to avoid being alone when there’s so much surrounding us already

Single cellular life is probably relatively common but species that create technology might be so rare that very few galaxies have even 1.

One of the damning pieces of evidence is the ability to create self replicating robots that can use resources like asteroid belts to make billions of copies. This is not hard technology to create and we will be there ourselves in maybe 25 to 50 more years. Evidence of something like this would be relatively easy to detect yet we don't see any. Once released it would take roughly 13 million years for these devices to be visible everywhere in our galaxy. Since the galaxy is orders of magnitude older than this this means that either all intelligent civilizations independently decided not to build these, or there aren't any others out there, at least in our galaxy.

Traveling from galaxy to galaxy is probably impossible as anything that could be reasonably built even taking into account stuff we cannot do yet would leave you with a trip that would take billions of years. Basically, intelligent life in other galaxies might as well not even exist. We wont ever see or detect it.

Even exploring this galaxy will require merging with technology. Even with a really fast ship you would be looking at trips many orders of magnitude longer than a human lifespan. We would need to be immortal and able to shut our consciousness off to make these trips reasonable and even then this only works if the entire population is this way otherwise everyone that was alive when a ship leaves would be dead for millions of years when the ship came back. This only works if our civilization becomes immortal, not just the scientists.
