Thoughts on this car?(5k)

Need a cheap reliable whip for my move to AZ / NV

How will this last in the heat?

Are chevys reliable for 4 cyl?

Heard Toyota and Honda are better for 4 cyl

Anyone drive a Cruze here?

Those are decent cars, but it's hard to beat a Toyota or Honda when it comes to long lasting economy cars.

The desert heat will kill a battery as easily as extreme cold will. I used to buy a 5-year Interstate battery and replce it after 3 years or so when I lived in the desert. Wipers and tires can also dry-rot pretty quick.

That's a rental car bro, the one owner was the rental company. Why else you think it has a 6 speed manual.... dump 100k on them and toss them to the curb

If you want reliability look into Toyota or a Honda

This. Op for what you want, you're better off with a Toyota or Honda. I personally wouldn't buy from Craigslist, especially if you're depending on it being a daily driver. Wouldn't recommend a Chevy, especially with high mileage. Every Chevy I ever owned started having major issue with high mileage.

In your defense I think this is the best thing you’ve proposed yet.

I had a friend with a Cruze and they generally liked it. Obviously a civic or a Corolla would be better though.

I thought your wanted a hatch/4wd. If FWD is fine, check out the Honda Fit mane, they’re great cars really.

A same year Camry is going to be 2x that, so it depends on your timeline.

I'm sure you can drive this Chevy for a year and sell it for $5k next year when you upgrade to a Raptor. If you are keeping for the long haul, just pay the toyota tax.

Interesting, I didn't know they made the Chevy Cruze with a manual transmission.....still, its a big hell no. There's a reason why they stopped making that car, You don't have to ask us just go on youtube and watch some reviews of the car.

Like most cars, they're fine for the first 50k or so miles but for Chevy Cruze, they start to fall apart fast....and I don't mean minor maintenance repairs, I mean $1,500 major repairs that you shouldn't experience until 100k+ miles.

My cousins a mechanic, when I bought my daily commutter (2020 Civic Hatch) He told me the cars he rarely sees in his shop are Toyotas and Hondas If you don't care about style or going fast or trying to be cute and you just want a car thats going to reliably get you from point "A" to point "B", your only options are Toyota or Honda. Sadly American cars are not what they use to be.

Yep

virtually every other video on youtube for Chevy Cruze are people complaining about the problems they've had or mechanics telling you why you shouldn't buy one.
