Hire a professional photographer and do a shoot. My buddy did one and Imma do it to. It wasn't for Tinder or anything, but rather for personal use. Dude completely went from bloat lord to giga chad over the course of 3ish years, and did a photoshoot to memorialize what he looked like, it was pretty dope. There's a woman near us who has a full blown studio, and also does shots in the gym during off hours. It's like all those photo's you've seen in the gym but could never replicated with your poverty iPhone.

Step 1: Be good looking
That's it. As long as you're good looking and your pictures show that then it doesn't matter.
The Miscer above me gave a good list of all the things girls say they don't like but they'll ignore each one if you're good looking.
You could have a selfie of you holding a fish with 10 girls in bikinis all around you with your friends in the background that's professionally taken with a potato that's shirtless and they won't care about any of that if you're hot.

I'm in to photography and the biggest thing is lighting. Getting the right lighting can completely change how you look.
A lot of sloots cake on make-up but lighting is the #1 thing they do to take really good pictures. 30 minutes after sunrise or 30 minutes before sunset on a clear day, that golden light is perfect. Find places where you can put the sun in front of you and then play around with the background (so a cool place like the mountains or a nice view or a vacation spot or an interesting restaurant.
You can also get one of those circle selfie lights that hold your phone or arrange the lights in your house and where you're sitting to get the perfect angle. You can get friends to help you with this too outside and they shine lights on you if it's night time. They'll make fun of you for being a ****git but that's because you are if you care this much.
Sloots have been using make-up, myspace angles and lighting for years to basically catfish guys so why not take advantage of 2 of those.
If you're looking for a gf on tinder (lool) then don't hide your hobbies. If you fish take a fishing picture, if you go to the gym a lot then do a gym selfie, if you paint then take a picture next to one of your paintings.
If you're looking to just hook up then do the angle and lighting tricks and make your backgrounds interesting and exciting and even mysterious if you can.
