We've all been suckered once or twice, what are your stories?

cliffs of mine:

- bought a card off Ebay
- card was wrong rarity as listed in the title
- images of the card were pretty sus (huge glare on the card from a light) which should've raised a red flag in hindsight
- messaged seller and he said card was as described and would dispute with Ebay

It was only for $50 so not losing any sleep over it, just mad I got suckered lmao.. last time I got scammed was when I was like 13 years old playing runescape (srs)

Literally only been scammed on online games like Runescape.

Ever since I got scammed in runescape, I’ve always been cautious on things that seemed too good to be true. But ig I slipped. Not all hope is lost, I atleast video recorded me opening the package

My truck needed a new door panel and sun visors. Saw a dude parting out on a fb group who took the money and made up some bs that his chick cleaned him out and cheated on him.
Wasn’t worth the time to pursue being it was only $140 but chit happens.

Paid an extra 20$ to have a game from GameStop delivered to me a day early. Was delivered a day after release.

Yea a local gym. Was around for about 8 months. Local guys started it up. Was more of an old school feel. Me and a bunch of locals guys I knew signed up. Everything was fine for those 8 months. We went one tuesday night and the doors were locked. Only one light on.

They dipped over night in Jan (end of the month) after a bunch more people signed up, some paid a year in full, sign up fees, and most people's monthly have come out. Never to be seen or heard from again. Found the kid who started it with his ex bodybuilder dad on instagram at the LA fit expo and they never came back. Tried to flee with all the money.

I just disputed with my bank and the bank hooked me up and a dispute was filed. I stopped paying attention after that but I'm sure they got fukked somehow. We did find out the place next store was a cover up for them too since it closed the same time. Most likely funneling money from dat dere orange juice sales.

Got scammed on Only Fans too many times to count. (no simp)

One time in Penang Malaysia, I wanted get to this tropical island to LDAR. Cab driver says no problem, he'll take me to a ferry 90 minutes away. $100 cab ride.

A few days later I found out there was a ferry stop 10 minutes from my hotel lol. Oh well, I hope he DEGENMAXXED with my grifted cash.

Yea i got convinced to buy a car off an old coworker, he talked me into it before I looked, I mean I couldnt have done much better with the swindlers on craigslist, but felt betrayed someone who I mistakenly trusted so easily sold me a beaten junker. I had a bad feeling as I looked more and more while picking it up... but Id already paid.

Never trusted anyone since when they have something to sell, even family, I thoroughly investigate before committing.

I'm going to file a dispute when I can (have to wait like 4 days). But pretty obvious a scam because I asked for more pics and guy was like "oh I can't seem to figure out how to send them over PM" and I just said fk it and made a fair offer which he accepted. Then after I message him after receiving the card, he's like "I have multiple high res photo's proving the card was as described".. only saving grace may be the card was damaged during shipping (by USPS most likely). I recorded a video of me opening the package so the guy can't just claim I bent it on purpose or some chit. But from what I read online, it's 50/50 whether or not I will get a refund. The listing said no returns but when I asked seller before buying, he said he would accept a return if the card wasn't as described.. I'll update this post once I file the claim/hear back from Ebay.
