I don't know what the short numbers are, but this time around it feels like a pure pump and dump scheme.

Theoretically there is no price ceiling on GME as long as it is shorted over 100%.

But that is only in theory if no one holding the stock ever sells. It will continue to go + = ∞

Even if it's only shorted 50% currently they would have to cover 35 million shares. If retailers own at least 51% of shares we will enter the same ∞ cycle.

I don't think the goal is to actually sell gamestop shares if you buy them. It's to bleed shorts dry with interest payments because they can't cover feasibly at this price without going broke.

They were shorting this thing at 4$ a share. It's been 50+ for ages now. Shorts are getting wrekt on this, no retail losses are even close to hedge short losses on this. One week interest payments probably covers most retail positions.

Thats why retailers jumped on this so hard. When it was 4$ a share the entire market cap was 280$mil. Literally 1 million people with 300$ can buy the entire company and just hold forever and fuk shorts.

so you sold at 90? what do you mean "so far"

youd have to have sold, cashed out and paid the tax man before you can claim profit

Yes but if the shorts knew this, why didn't they take a loss at 40 when it dipped and said screw it we are taking a huge loss

I honestly think GME is currently shorted more then its original 140% or whatever it was when this took off mainstream. I looked up recent data and it says 21million shares short or roughly 40% 1/29. I am skeptical that they gave up their positions without entering into new shorts because lets face it "no one believes in gme".

I do not think anyone on wallstreet thought retailers would be this retarded.

With the VW fiasco it was clear; porsche owned all the shares so you can't shake a company. Just concede.

But I think hedges expected to shake this off pretty easily, they were probably thinking GME would be dead 3 weeks ago. The internet has a short attention span after-all. But here we are almost march and there are still frothing retards all over this.
