Calling out mrbourbon
Was wondering if you had any of this particular bourbon. It retails anywhere from $25-$30 but people pay upwards of $300 for a bottle. My local beverage store made me aware that that had a few bottles for regulars at cost. I’m a cognac guy but this chit is pretty dam good.
Weller special reserve green label bourbon, 45% alc bv, 90 proof. Pretty smooth.
Any other miscers chime in if you’ve had this.

To each his own, but vastly overrated IMO. The entire weller line is even the full proof. Makers cask strength is a better deal if you’re into wheaters. buffalo trace store pick single barrels compare well to weller and have the store pick variance.

youll like it alot if you like makers mark
alot of ppl love it because its easy drinking.

Hnnnng in on call-out thread, I made it boys !
That's a wheated bourbon, meaning it has a high percentage of wheat in the grain bill. It'll be smoother and sweeter as a result.
Wheaters aren't my personal favorite but they are very popular. Makers Mark is one of the best known ones.
Weller used to be a screaming deal in all it's bottlings, the price and availability are getting worse because the distillery that makes it is very popular - they also make Pappy Van Winkle which is "the" bourbon right now and the hype is dragging price points up pretty much across their range. If you can get it at the "regulars" hook up from your guy I'd keep buying it, but I agree w #3 that it's currently over hyped and usually overpriced as a result.
Fall 2019 we rented a cabin in the Blue Ridge and a drank an entire bottle of that exact whiskey in the evenings with my kindle in a rocking chair on the porch. Was perfect. Cheers OP.
