Jaw dropping graph on self harm by gender and generation
How's all that "female empowerment" going for Gen Z girls? I imagine it's only got worse over the last 7 years

Starting weight 130lbs
Current stats: 6"2, 210lbs.
The 8th and final rule: If this is your first night at Gym Club....... you have to squat.

Lettuce b real tea, @16 these people are just coming into the stark reality that they live in England so I think thats a pretty relevant solution to dealing with the truth.

Your mind is poisoned by seeking out empowerment things that rustle your jimmies.
Think about how it was navigating your teen years and your self doubt and uncertainty. Throw in all this left right lgbt bull**** and think of what your average young girl is going through.
Add plastic surgeon models popularising things like g string bikinis and slooty behaviour that is in young girls lives 24/7. Back in the day bullying stopped when you left school. Short of being a monk and ditching your phone and laptops it's now so difficult to escape for the new generation.
I feel sorry for them. The image issues and absurd things they are having to learn at young ages must be ****ing with them so hard. It's millenials driving empowerment culture, 16-24 kids who don't know better and don't have fully formed minds are being indoctrinated without even knowing.

Nowadays we have 15 year olds slooting it up (cash me outside girl, various Tik Tok chicks)
Kids are too stupid to understand social media =/= reality and have zero perspective of real struggle and real trauma because they have been locked in their homes for 1/8 of their lives. They get upset because their life isn’t like Charlie’s or Bella’s etc
My poor little 15 yo sis thought it was some massive achievement to get herself 1k IG followers I can see how her perspective is totally fukked given this new digital age makes me sad man

I truly believe it is all social media and news source driven. Everyone is selling something and a lot of it is lies. And most of it is in your face constantly. Even ads in a store can make someone feel insecure if they already are predisposed to those feelings of inadequacy through tv/social media. Influencers are a big root of the problem.
I also think we need to focus on teaching younger people to think more analytically so they can recognize these ridiculous thought patterns and become more aware of the fallacy that is making them feel sad enough to self harm.
Also curious to know what this study defined as self harm though.
Marketing has become implying you are less without the product and that you need the specific product to feel or be complete as a person.

Oh course self-harm is rampant in the "look at me" generation.
Though it's hardly all their fault, they were raised this way.
