How long do you have to train BJJ for until you are unbeatable in a street fight

Everyone knows even featherweights in the UFC would easily destroy huge bodybuilders in Street fights.

I don't want to be in the UFC but how much training until I could take down like huge biker type guys with my BJJ skills?

They say a blue belt can submit 90% of the population, so 6-12 months (srs). If there's multiple people though and you only know grappling, you're probably fked though (dead fkin srs).

Taking MMA classes is gonna do you better..

a Blue or Black belt isn't going to do **** for you, if you get punched in the face and flat lined

wrestling in terms of grappling martial arts are more suited for self defense

Unless you're getting into bar fights, 95% of serious physical confrontations in the real world are initiated by people with weapons.

Unless you believe BJJ will help you disarm someone with a knife or gun, it's pretty limited in application.

95%? Is that an actual statistic because it doesn't sound right. People get beaten to death all the time

I wanted to do BJJ but think general MMA training would be more practical in day use if I found myself in a bad situation.

Just don’t want to have to explain walking into the office with an occasional black eye to normie lame coworkers, they wouldn’t get it. Idk if you brahs have dealt with that before, I work in an office.

Highly successful? Maybe a year.

Unbeatable? Never.

At the risk of sounding cliche: the first rule of a street fight is there are no rules.

There is no bell to save you.
There is no such thing as "unfair". You are either trying to win or you're not out of some egotistical notion of honor.
With the 2nd point in mind, there is no amount of training that will compensate for monkey wrenches being thrown into a street fight. You can't train for his buddy sucker punching you from behind or for being dropped at just the right angle you crack your head on the building corner that wasn't in your gym - now you're unconscious, the fight only lasted 2 seconds, and all your training didn't mean sh*t.

Yeah, alot of that is just street smarts and general awareness

Best thing you can do is avoid it altogether, no amount of training is gonna compensate for getting jumped by multiple people, weapons, etc.

Obviously if you have no choice it's better not to be caught with your pants down, but knowing how to fight/defend with the intention of escaping a potentially deadly situation would be ideal. Train that 100 yard dash boyo. Sometimes knowing how to fight can fill you with a sense of overconfidence where you forego basic common sense.

The confidence of being able to be comfortable fighting off your back is priceless. As long as you can control your breathing all you need to do is wrap em up, let them gas out in 40 seconds and go from there.

well yea but a fair 1v1 fight is rare. 99% of *******s that start fights only do it with backup

boxing with good takedown defence is more useful in the realworld

Troll thread but I agree. I was gonna say 2 years and some above average strength (you regularly lift). Of course there are limits to BJJ on the street but it’s still extremely effective.

I bounced when I was 18-21 and have used BJJ many times. I was tackled and put someone in a triangle, hooked his leg and rolled over on top of him. Also had a guy tackle me and was going to start punching and i arm barred him. It caused him to chill out but any of his friends could have booted my face at any moment, I was lucky they didn’t.
I also used several simple throws (like a ****ty uchi mata), they are extremely effective on the street and it kind of makes a big statement to anyone wanting to join in.
Being able to fight off your back ie sweep someone in an invaluable skill as you can turn it from you most vulnerable position to a bet comfortable one. If some is in to of you and still wants to fight there is real intention to hurt you so it’s great.
