Anyone else's co workers constantly gossip about others?

Literally every single day this happens, always speculating rumors and just chit talking or complaining about others whenever they're not around.

There's this one guy we work with in particular and everyone is cool with him to his face yet whenever he's not around pretty much everyone rips the chit out of him. He does kinda bring it on himself with some of the stuff he comes out with but its hilarious to watch.

The funniest thing is that 95% of my colleagues are fully grown men, not many women at my job tbh.

Couldn't imagine whats its like in a female dominated workplace.

Brooo I hate gossip at woke. It always seems to happen. I get rude with people when I see them being all friendly to someone’s face and then hear them talk chit behind their backs. Cant stand people who do this.

I observe my coworker’s attitudes when they’re under stress caused from other coworkers and that’s how they are towards me when I’m not around obviously.

No doubt they definitely talk chit about me when I'm not around lol.

Couldn't care less tbh pretty much everyone talks about everyone. It's just funny when you realise how two faced the vast majority of people are.

I like doing things that make my coworkers wonder about me then LMAO when I'm the one getting raises/bonuses/promotions. Feels good mayne

I know it happens but thankfully I learned at a young age to not give a fuk what anyone says or thinks. It's the only way I've made it so far in life

Mostly just make fun of them and the stuff they say, or complaining about other people non stop. Sometimes it's just light hearted banter but other times it's blatant hate.

It's funny as a kid when you were in school, if someone didn't like you they'd tell you straight to your face but in the adult world no one confronts eachother.

Yeah, this dude in my dept is 36 and lives with his gfs parents and is the biggest loser. He basically lives vicariously through everyone else's lives because he's boring as ****. It's well known not to say anything to him or around him because he's a little gossip girl. Annoying af.

It's a ****in all male dept and he just acts like a little girl it's so fukkin weird. He's also like super gay about drugs and hasn't ever had a drink or a even a cigarette and will tell on you if you talk about smoking weed. It's pretty funny cause it was just legalized in NJ where we live so now we all talk about it freely just to unease him.

It gets weird cause we'll all plan to go to the bar or somethin g after work and we have to tip toe around so he doesn't hear us and try to invite himself even tho he doesn't fukkin drink

Big time, plus major backstabbing. I have seen this at more than one place its pathetic. The worst is resentment over what a potential new guy might be making per hour or whatever insecure thoughts they have,

Yep. Most people are just fully of jealousy and base their whole lives off trying to "prove" themselves to people who couldn't care less about them.

Sad!

Yes and it's caused me to isolate over the years because people talk about each other constantly but i don't know how you can maintain a social life without gossip. It's like 90% of the conversations with a little bit of netflix and restaurants added in.

Lol I don't work in an office, I work at a train station in the public transport/railway industry and never seen so many snakes in one place.

If you do something wrong no one will confront you about it, instead they'll act cool to your face and then go behind your back and complain to management without you knowing.

I mean I'm content with my job but seeing how most behave in the workplace really opens your eyes.

in the office you need to put a clear barrier, they are your co-workers, not your friends. get done with work and sayonora, never go out after work and bs like that, it´s cringe and goes against you in the long run. don´t help people too much, they will use you. don´t talk about personal stuff

also, the industry/sector doesn´t matter. mom works in healthcare, i always lol when i hear that nurses are angels. brb cutting throats for clocking out 5 mins earlier or 5 mins later, opinions about shifts and idgf about someone else attitudes, but only behind someone´s back/ behind the scene

How old are they? I'm cringing at the thought of fat tradies snitching on each other like little girls.

Lmao that's exactly what most of them are, middle aged blokes in there 40's and 50's.

There's a few younger guys like me too in there 20s/30's but pretty everyone acts the same regardless of age tbh.

My coworkers aren't like this. We never gossip and bitch like that about each other or work against each other. But it's an exclusively high IQ workplace, almost no one has less than a masters and many have PhDs in physics.

Haven't been in the office for over a year, but not so much in this current company.

It happens mainly in big companies or depending on your role. I was once an auditor and people talked all the time but we traveled together and people get bored.

When I worked in a auto parts warehouse when I was younger, all the guys gave one guy in particular a lot of ****, but that was due to him being a legit moron and fuking everything up constantly.
