90 days in jail for having sex with a student... lol at equality.

PEKIN (WEEK) -- A former Morton High School teacher pleaded guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse in a Tazewell County courtroom Friday.




Erin Kemp resigned from her job back in September after an investigation of an "inappropriate relationship" with a student.

In December, she was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse with a minor.

Original court documents revealed that the student said they had a sexual relationship. Kemp admitted to the relationship, but claimed it was not sexual.

As a part of the plea signed today, one of those counts was dropped.

The 38-year-old will spend 90 days in jail.

In addition to two years of probation, Kemp will have to be a registered sex offender for the rest of her life.

The article doesn't say how old the student was. The student could have been 17, not 12. That detail would explain the relatively short jail term.
