How do you get over your phobias?
For me, if I'm in a confined space I have a panic attack. I feel like I'm going to get crushed. The confined space is the crawlspace under a house. There are 2 rental houses that have frozen/burst pipes under them. Can't rent them out with the burst pipes. I can fix CPVC, copper, galvanized and Pex plumbing; but I have the panic attacks when I enter the crawlspace. Most local plumbers have gone to Texas to fix problems down there. The waiting list for the remaining plumbers in town is about a month long. Ded Srs.

when you get down there you're gonna react...So just chill, and take slow deep breaths until you calm down. If you need to back out, do so...but keep trying until you can relax enough to go underneath. They're sturdy houses, not a car on a shoddy jack.

Exposure - dead fkn srs. Fears cause avoidance, which perpetuates the fear long term. You need to face the fear. It's the emotional price of admission you must pay.

By facing them
I used to be really afraid of water (drowning)
Had a bad experience on Nantahala once on the last rapid (class 3) where I rolled over and started freaking out getting getting drug underwater for a ways then finally pulled my spray skirt.
Told myself that I could probably die one day if I don’t learn to keep calm under certain situations. So I spent a lot of time learning to perfect my roll and intentionally held myself under water in the kayak for as long as I could trying to keep calm and then coming up only when I knew I needed to breath.
Now when I flip over I just calmly roll back up and don’t think about drowning haha
