Blood type question

Since different blood types are determined by what antigens the body let's stay on the blood cells without it attacking, what do those antigens do? And why do people's bodies only allow certain ones that others don't.

Driving me crazy can't find and answer to this.

It's weird because antigens are a toxin that causes the body to create an immune response so why would they be there in the first place

What if we all have same blood type but we're givin different antigens during childhood vaccines. Wouldn't that be a an easy way to control people's max capabilities.

All I know is type O is close to immune to covid.

blood group O – has no antigens, but both anti-A and anti-B antibodies in the plasma. blood group AB – has both A and B antigens, but no antibodies.

So why does O have zero antigens yet the antibidies to kill both. We've been poisoned?
