Why is rice the go-to carb for bbers/plers when noodles has more protein?

I just had 180g of chicken breast which came to 41g of protein with 150g of amoy noodles, which has almost 10g of protein.

That's a little over 50g in one meal, if I had rice instead of the noodles the protein intake would be a little bit lower. So why to bodybuilders and other strength athletes swear by rice?

Convenience and cheap af to buy in bulk

Just throw it in the cooker and come back when it's done

White rice digests easily, so you can eat a lot it frequently without feeling bloated.

Rice has better nutrients also easier to digest

Noodles and pasta are not as good for you srs I forgot why but fr. Also bloat you more

Basmati or jasmine rice are even better because of their low/nonexistent gluten content

Edit: ^ meant glycemic index not gluten lol

Least filling carb so it's the easiest to eat a lot of.

It is less healthy to eat white rice though because of its super high glycemic index.

White rice is easy to digest and does not contain any anti nutrients or hard to digest proteins, like gluten, so does not cause any GI problems in sufficient quantities

Like everyone else said, it's easy to digest, no anti nutrients, doesn't bloat, easy to eat in large quantities for bulking.

Glycemic index is really only relevant for diabetics. Even then, the glycemic index of a food only matters when eaten alone on a completely empty stomach (think 8+ hours of fasting).

Assuming you don't have celiac disease, noodles are fine OP. Bodybuilders in general are not bright folks and tend to parrot what their idols do with zero understanding why

Came in to post this. GI goes out the window in the context of a mixed meal.

No it doesn't.

High GI carbs still cause a much higher insulin spike.

It's why most people who eat sugar all day eventually become a diabetic.

They sure do if you eat them on an empty stomach. Even protein can cause an insulin spike. Anyway, what's wrong with an insulin spike?

No. That's due to overconsuming calories in general.

Almost hard to believe its 2021 and people still believe the carbohydrate/insluin model of obesity lmao

Harvard studies on nutrition have shown that people who eat a high GI diet are at a significantly greater risk of developing type 2

Cool. Link them so we can examine the methodology

In general, stop tossing around buzz phrases that you don't understand. The topic of this conversation is about strength athletes. We're not talking about obese boomers here

Lol most people don't even know what glycemic index is.

It's just how quickly the carb is converted into glucose. I took bio in high school thx

Strength athletes are subject to the same ailments as boomers.

Eating 10,000 calories per day including 300-400 grams of protein and taking substances that impact your kidneys at the same time is not healthy. Not to mention the strain on your heart, enlargement of the heart and organs from other substances.

I'm glad you understand the terms you're using

This is a totally separate conversation that's mostly irrelevant to the thread topic. Please stay on topic and link those studies
