Did you know BASE jumping stands for building antenna span and earth? I always assumed It just referred to a base as a fixed point.

it varies, I was on a steel crew for 3 years and stacked about 10 towers, destacked one, and did a lot of reinforcing / tower modifications

this is my first stack since moving to BC, there aren't too many new towers that need to be put up out here but we're bidding on a few more right now so I might get lucky

Yeah, I believe my grandfather's title was master machinist in the aerospace industry. He described it as the engineers would bring their plans to him and ask if it could actually be built.

I’ve stacked loads of towers and we’ve always had to field drill and fix engineer mistakes.

They rely too much on their software to do everything for them these days
