tom petty for me. dude kept it real without ever being a pain in the ass. he was kinda the getter_done of 4/5 chord songwriters.

All have there majic. Pettys aweaome but song after song and im over the dob dylan 'esque vocals. Rip.
When power ballads needed,the boss springsteens reigns supreme.melloncamps similar in that he was pretty blue collar but not near as big as springsteen but both kept it real.
Paul simon...never listended to more then a song or two.

bruce def had the most "to say" as far as real talk goes out of the 4.
still take petty. seems like he'd be the most fun to have a beer/write a song with
