Name a generic brand better than the “real thing”

I swear kroger Diet Root Beer chits on the Barq’s, A&W or any other diet root beers, same for diet Dr K (diet Dr Pepper)

Kroger brand cocoa krispies are also better than cocoa pebbles or the Kellogg version

I dunno about better but walmart has chic fil a sauce for like $2 a bottle. It is relabeled as chicken dipping sauce and it tastes exactly the same.

Cream Cheese - there is some generic cream cheese manufacturer that has been pumping out chit better than Philadelphia since I was a kid. The stuff you buy at a deli is better, but at the grocery store I'll take the generic every time.

At least true IME for Meijer brand and many times Aldi. For Aldi you have to check out the contents through the clear plastic.

I don't know why but the name brand ones are kind of burnt/overcooked for some time now.

my mom used palmolive growing up, grandparents are hardcore dawn fanboys

i was part of team dawn for the longest because palmolive just didn't seem to have that extra oomph dawn brought to the table, but I bought some gain during the beginning of the chitdemic and i haven't looked back. Just as much oomph as dawn, doesn't take 10 years to wash off. Also doesnt dry out your skin so you can use it as hand soap np

tried a bunch over the years, i'm not a costco shopper so its always some random one off something someone's given me to try because "bro i swear its better than the original"

but the number 1 offender i can think of is their protein bars, i remember reading online people raving about how cheap and amazing they tasted. After trying one the first time I thought "no way, must just be stale no way this is what everyone has hyped up". Bought some from costco, same thing. Told myself "must've been the flavor, there is no fcking way this is what people have been praising". Tried it again and same fckin thing, I wouldn't wipe my ass with one of those pieces of chit they call a "protein bar"
