Got my J&J vaccine last Thursday, AMA

Hello Misc,

Seeing as my class is going to be working on patients in a month, I thought I’d go ahead and get the vaccine. Ended up being J&J, so thankfully only have to get one shot.

Shot hurt a bit but I was in and out in 20 minutes. Arm was sore for a few days afterwards.

Got the shot at 1:30 PM in the afternoon. No side effects for the rest of the day. When I woke up, I was shivering and cold but sweating terribly. This lasted up until the evening. Thought it was all over, but that night I couldn’t fall asleep for a few hours cause I had the worst night shivers.

Since then no issues. AMA misc! 🙂

are you worried at all Johnson & Johnson is an unscrupulous p.o.s company that doesn't care about giving cancer to babies with its baby powder?

Or do choose not to you believe J&J never sold asbestos-tainted baby powder to babies, dpesite it being a huge case in the U.S?

I’m sure J&J, like many other companies, have done a number of very unscrupulous things that should have their company viewed with skepticism. That being said, the vaccine appears to be safe in the clinical trials that have been conducted. The Adenovirus vector strategy is already commonly used in other vaccines and has demonstrated efficacy.

Mandatory vaccine to do your clinicals?
I know some hospital mandate the FLU vaccine but not the covid.

Why would you be worried about that when you're taking the Janssen vaccin which is made by a Dutch company in the Netherlands?

Do you wear deodorant? Brush your teeth? Where do you get your food? Are you sure your clothes arent made with harmful chemicals and dyes? How about blankets & sheets? How do you know? Did you stop by the factories in China and look for yourself? Or did you buy into the seal of approval stamped on the front?

There’s toxic **** everywhere.

Don’t get the vaccine or any vaccine. It’s up to you. But if you’re worried about a company poisoning people then you may as well live in a bubble and farm your own food without pesticides (good luck).

At least J&J is using a proven delivery method used for a lot of other shots rather than running a live test on the mRNA one.

The misc has lost its mind, everything is risky. The whey you drink has contaminants. The meat, the salad, your clothes, your home, your car, the office, coffee, the alcohol, your ****ing condiments. Running around screaming about cancer and injections then pretending to be alpha like you aren’t afraid of the flu while shoving DHT inhibitors from random ass companies that don’t give a fuk about you either.

Everyone needs to go outside and mellow out.

I don’t really care about getting the virus myself. I DO care about having to miss 2 weeks of clinic and falling behind, but otherwise it wouldn’t be a big deal. I want to do everything I can, however, to prevent my at-risk relatives of getting it. If I somehow got the virus and gave it to my 98-year-old great aunt, or my 70-year-old father, I’d never forgive myself.

It’s strongly recommended but not mandatory. Flu vaccine is mandatory at my school however.

there is a difference between the sun causing some sort of cancer (out of your control) and a company deliberately knowing about their product causing cancer and covering it up allowing its use for many many many years. (similar to the NFL knowing about head injuries CTE and hiding the information).

A huge chunk of my coworkers got the J&J Vaccine, and then they were all out for like 3 days with chills and sweats.

I'm personally waiting for as long as possible before they make it absolutely mandatory.

It was provided by my school. They said we’d been bumped up in priority (to 1A or something) and that we could schedule it on campus. Unfortunately I’m not sure how to go about getting it if you’re not a student.
