It's not the season for peppers where I'm at right now so they're more expensive.

Our local fruit/Veg stand sells them for 2 for a dollar. Local grown/'organic'.


Here's the thing. If you go to a fruit/veg stand you can by stuff for significantly lower prices. Got to a butcher shop buy meat at lower prices. Go to a dock and buy seafood/fish at low prices. Etc.


But you lose the convenience of just going to one local grocery store and buying all of those things at one place.

Seconded.

Mexican grocery store or Aldi if you have them. Their produce prices have increased also, but not that high yet. Bag of 3 green peppers is under $2.
