Just watched Hook

For the first time in many years. Watched it with my family (wife and 4 kids). What a masterpiece of family cinema. It's just as good, if not better, than I remember from when I was a kid. Made me long for our lost culture - the one we live in now is no longer capable of creating art like that.

"You are the Pan."

That's one of my favorite Spielberg movies.

Gawdam the amount of Rufio, Pan, Hook amateur sword fights we'd have as kids in the backyard

Just absolutely beat the chit outta each other with sticks, metal rods, pipe, anything that could be imagined as a sword

Man, I know. I was a bit apprehensive about watching it again - thinking it wouldn't be as good as I remembered as a kid. Just shows that critics were trash back then too.

I wanted to be peter pan so bad. Glad my kids loved it too. Wish I still had that kind of imagination.

Peter Pan, the boy who never wanted to grow up, grows up to be a workoholic father who neglects his kids.

It was Tinkle Bell and the Lost Boys that brought him back. It was Peter Pan being a kid again that led him to be a better father for his own kids.

By far my favorite take on the Peter Pan story. Robin Williams will never be replaced.
