I was outraged at The Cable Guy. I was a fan of him as a comedian actor and although I continued to well past liar liar, when I went to see Cable Guy in theatre I was prepared to laugh and it had its lolzy scenes I suppose: banging on the door shouting “cable guy!!!!!!!!!”, calling Steven a jerkoff, beating down Owen Wilson and some Jack black. It turned into a stalker movie not a hit comedy:

Cliffs:

Op loved Carrey as a kid (Mask, ace Ventura 1& 2, dumb and dumber and Batman forever).
Op went to see cable guy when it came out
Expected a big comedy; felt more like a crazy stalker flick at the end

Cable Guy is top-tier and underrated. Me, Myself, and Irene is pretty good too.

I've skipped his worst movies but Grinch was pretty bad. Though it's not like holiday movies in general are known for their Oscar-worthiness, so I cut it some slack.

In theatres everyone was laughing hysterically for ace Ventura 2, from the beginning in that Cliffhanger scene where he looks at the camera and says, “yunno you can put an eye out with that thing” It had the crowd hooked.
There was hardly anyone there when I went to see cable guy but might’ve helped me appreciate it more if I saw others enjoying it.
