Misc doesn't lift, but what you lifting today bruhs?

For me today:

1. Paused (BB back) squats
Work up to a heavy single then drop weight and complete 5*5

2. Low-incline DB Press
4 sets in the 5-8 rep range

3. BB Row
4 sets in the 5-8 rep range

4. Rear delts and Triceps
Just some random shiz to hit both and finish up the workout.

Currently cutting, so much lower volume overall than I would otherwise complete. Maintaining relatively heavy weights and high intensity requires the volume drop for me. I find it helps in maintaining strength during a cut though, vs. going ham on number of sets/reps for everything.

I'm on a pseudo-full-body split right now, if you're curious about the odd movement combination.

What you guys hitting today?

Checking back in with ya'll lifting bruhs.

Felt surprisingly energetic after finishing my BB rows so I tossed in a quick 3*3*8 SS of machine press and cable rows before doing rear delts and tris.

Decent workout, I was happy with it.

I agree, it is what I get the best contraction from as well - unfortunately I never seem to get any growth along with the contraction. Makes me sad.

Bro I feel you on that one. My biceps grow very easily (which would normally be a good thing) but if I pay any real attention to them in my training they end up overpowering my pulling movements too much. I need to walk a very fine line between ignoring them completely, and doing a little too much and reducing the effectiveness of my back movements. It's a nuisance tbh.

Probably my best body part along with hams and back. Find it much more beneficial to split quads and hams up and just obliterate them.

I'm new to lifting and on starting strength. Did 150x3x5 squats and 145x3x5 Bench and 175x1x5 deadlift. Feeling pretty good, failed last rep of bench but that was because I was looking at a big black booty.

Get it, bruh. Back is my favorite by far. Personal opinion - training back is most alpha and if I could only train one muscle group from here on out it would be back.

Do what you can, my man. Tbh I love goblet squats - I'll use them both as pre-exhaustion before squatting or as a finisher for legs.
