Who is the best rapper of all time and why?

And don't come in here with poverty underground rappers no one has heard of. To me the biggest part of the GOAT conversation is influence and cultural impact. If no one has heard your ****, you ain't ****. Heads stay out.

Don’t really fukking care how much hate this answer will get.

But KRS-One

His music will preserve original hip hop culture. Explain what gangster rap and pop rap have done to ruin the culture. And was a thoughtful and philosophical person who championed consciousness in hip hop.

Wayne is an interesting case. I wouldn't put him as the GOAT, but it was mind blowing when he dropped The Carter III. A ****ty southern jingle rapper suddenly drops a classic album seemingly out of nowhere, and becomes arguably the best MC in the genre at the time. Seems like he sold his soul to become a better rapper, srs. Probably did it at some crossroads in Louisiana since he's from there.

Nas was never big enough, and never put out anything on the level of Illmatic after. His personality isn't really suited to hip-hop, tbh. No swagger.

Rakim was very influential and is one of the GOATs.

He has 7 album credits on his wikipedia page. For reference Kool Keith has 39 (not including his work with Ultra Magnetic)

You're a moron. If I had 43 million to throw around, I would buy that painting, srs. Would feel good to flex on angry peasants like you. There's your answer.

People have said the same thing about country, metal, rock. Are we supposed to listen to nothing but classical so that nobody will criticize our taste in music? And yes, there is a lot of stupid rap, just like every other genre of music. Granted, these days the genre is in worse shape than others, I'll admit that.

Neither had a big impact. MF Doom is borderline underground. I don't think either would even crack the top 50.
