How hard is it to get fired from a tenured position?

Obviously I certainly do not have tenure. Never really heard of it until a couple of months ago, maybe it’s more of an American thing than British, I dunno?

Apparently it almost makes you bullet-proof in the work place and it will be incredibly difficult to fire you. Is that right?

Curious.... What would it take to get fired if you are tenured? What sort of chit can you get away with that a normal employee couldn’t?

Anyone here tenured that can confirm that level of job security?

in this current climate basically saying what you think about anything might get you fired srs, the level of fear mongering is off the charts right now

Almost unheard of to be fired

Applies to teachers as well though.. when does one ever get fired for being a crap teacher (as opposed to kiddy diddling in which case you’ll get a stern talking to)

Pretty sure only teachers and professors can be tenured. Or at least they're the only ones I've ever heard of. It makes it difficult to fire you, but if they really want you gone they'll get rid of you. They just have to build a case against you first and it's more of a process. And chances are if you've made it long enough to become tenured then they will just put up with you. But you start skipping classes for weeks at a time, dropping N bombs in class, etc. best believe your ass will be out the door. lol


A lot of schools will cuck the teachers and get rid of them before they reach tenured status though lol

Very difficult, tenure only exists so professors can say wacky bullchit in the name of academia.

Difficult to get and very cliquey though, so probably 99% social justice nonces.

Only asking because my favourite tranny professor Rachel Mckinnon/Veronica Ivy) appears to have been fired (“voluntarily resigned”) from his tenured position at the College of Charleston.

To be tenured and a tranny, and to still get fired?...... Figured he must have been real chit.
