Just bought a Tesla

Still waiting for registration though, so it's just sitting in my driveway for now.

Looks like something from back to the future. I like the overall idea of Tesla. But is it worth it, you'd say? I know you're most likely biased because you've just invested yourself financially and emotionally, and even if you weren't satisfied, it would be too emotionally inconvenient a truth to internalize, but try. I'm genuinely interested and do not know many people who own a Tesla.

Price, mileage for a fully charged battery?
*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*

Whether it's worth it, especially for a car, is very subjective. Is a car by BMW, Mercs, Audi, etc. worth it when something from Kia can essentially achieve the same primary objective i.e. bring you from point A to point b?

For me personally, I drive 100 miles everyday for work. I've estimated the cost savings in gas to be around $2,500 - $3,000 annually. Gas savings is not the primary motivation in me getting a Tesla, but it helps. What really swing me over is the technology and the autopilot. I drove 7 hours back to my house from where I picked up the car, and honestly it was such a treat, and the autopilot makes the drive so mentally easy. That, for me, is what makes it worth it.

Paid $84k for a used one-year old car. Mileage is about 300 miles 90% charged (they discouraged you from fully charging your battery).

This is a good idea. I could see myself doing this too. By the time I'd be at $1mill net worth... investments should bring in like $50k/yr assuming half of my net worth is in investments, and a 10% growth. Plus my salary should hopefully be closer to $130k-150k by then. Either way, at that point a Tesla could be considered priced reasonably. Also by then we'll have better AI/features in those teslas, better batteries, better charging situations, and maybe I'll have my own house to charge it.

- Is it true that they discourage you from fully charging because of the increased probability of the battery catching fire?

- The mental ease of autopilot. How can you possibly feel at ease going that fast with nothing more than circuitry making all the decisions?

- I remember reading an article that did the cost/benefit analysis on EV's in terms of gas savings. Said that the owner would need to hold the car for 6 years just to break even on the premium paid over standard engine plus decrease in resale due to aging battery.

Maybe it varies by state, but you should have gotten a temporary registration that covers you until the official one comes in the mail.

Congrats, good luck with it. Here in the northeast the winter was tough and Tesla owners suffered because of what happens to batteries with the cold.

If we don't get new battery tech this E-vehicle revolution is will be an environmental disaster, IMO E-vehicles won't make sense until they generate their own power via mini reactors or some equivalent.

Congrats on buying one of the biggest scams in the world cars. Never spend more then 10k on a depreciating asset srs. That money that you spent on Tesla would be worth 250k conservatively 15 years from now if you put it in the market

One of my cuck neighbors traded their poverty base model mercedes for a poverty base model tesla. I wouldn't even be surprised if it didn't have autonomous driving feature lol at 30k cars being a flex when you're in wage cuck 9-5 time.
