Recommend me a good book

Looking for something less serious and probably along the fiction/fantasy genre. Preferably short, easy read around 150-300 pages.

My "library" is mostly politics, finance, technology, science related and I am looking for something completely 180 of that.

The Hobbit could be an option. It's pretty fun and easy to read. Most of the fantasy books I've read are huge trilogies or series with 10 books or something so those wouldn't be an option.

Do you think the series would be ruined having seen the movies? FWIW I liked the movies.

Nah you might actually be kinda surprised by some things because they added/changed a lot of details in the movies. If they went by the book they'd have material for like one 90mins movie.

Herman Jesse's "Sidharta"

Not scifi but it's sort of about the life of budha with some mythical elements. Pretty great book and a very interesting journey into the depths of the self

Lost horizon Is pretty cool too

The blade itself is bigger than 300 pages but its really good.

What I really loved was the night watch series.

Both are fantasy.
