Would you relive your childhood years if you could?
For some reason I've been thinking about this all day, going over all the childhood friends I had growing up, the other kids that lived in my neighborhood, kids in my classes, boy scouts, ...
For some reason thinking about it makes me really sad. Like I could have done things much better and my life would be better as a result. Like talk to more people, put more effort into friendships, get invited to more parties, etc. Feels like I did everything wrong when I look back in time
It sucks, wish I would stop thinking about it. I'm only in my mid 20s but feels like I'm having a mid life crisis sometimes

Absolutely. Had a great childhood. Would probably change some decisions in my teens/early 20s as well.

To be able to go back to around 10 years old with all my current memories in tact would be sweet.
So many opportunities with girls that I messed up.
Get in on Apple stock.
Start lifting early.
Different major in College.
So many times I messed up with girls.

I get like that too sometimes OP. Just have to try and remember the fun times you had and try to live without regrets, it will just eat you alive if you keep thinking couldve, shouldve, wouldve.
Hey gideon! Ive been looking at your wall, its pretty frickin sickening bro.

I had a great, fun filled childhood but I couldve been a lot more productive. I enjoyed it but there are many things i regret doing. If i was more productive and had a focus then i would have no regrets

No Worries. I think i had an okay childhood. Some ups and downs but you'll always fixated on the downs. My huge downs are fixated on a girl. That kinda eliminated all the good girls that was in my life or could be in my life. Apart from that, my teens was fun and 20s not too bad.
To be honest, all that is in the past and you can't do anything about it now so keep pushing forward and enjoy the rest of your 20s and future self.
Thing you have to ask yourself is:
1. can you do anything about it?
2. If you can, is it beneficial?
3 if 1& 2 is no, then move on.

I would, 100%. But you can't, so I don't spend much time thinking about it. Not really a big "regrets" guy. I've done what I've done and made my choices. Focus on changing what you can and maximizing yourself today and in future days. Much healthier and much more productive. Use the past and mistakes as a tool and learning opportunity to be better now.
You wish you could have talked to people more, invested more in friendships? Do that, starting now. Invest with the friends you have that you think will invest back into you.
The thing is, man, we're all flawed, everybody. Some of us more than others, but none of us have done everything perfectly along the way. Part of the human experience. Even if we went back in time, we would still screw up, maybe to a lesser extent or maybe in different ways, who knows. Maybe instead of talking to the cute blonde, you talk to the cute redhead this time. Maybe you date for 5.5 years and get married. Or maybe because the redhead likes metal music, you guys got smashed by a semi otw back from a Metallica concert. You're just torturing yourself with what ifs, shoulda, coulda, and woulda. It's not particularly helpful, unless you take those experiences forward with you now to avoid the mistakes of the past.
YOLO, boyo. Do the best you can. If you can do better, then do it.

Yeah but doesn't do any good thinking/daydreaming on it. I've been doing the same though lately; year of lockdowns been wearing me down.
