If you only had to pay 1 tax what would it be?

If you had to live in a state regardless if it's a liberal paradise or conservative paradise. Which tax system would you prefer the govt collecting from?

Property

If things stay at the same rate, obviously sales is cheapest. But if that was the only tax, it would have to go up

sales tax only. Income tax can be cheated. property tax can be estimated incorrectly. Sales tax only is a pretty fair system. the more you spend the more you pay, simple as that. dont tax food, paper towels ext.

I would personally do sales tax. If I barely buy chit, I shouldn't be paying taxes into the system.

Income taxes always goes up "progressively" which is a a broken system currently, and it affects everyone.

Property tax would affect everyone.

Sales tax can at least be controlled much better than the other 2. Just don't buy as much chit.

Wouldn't it be true of all of them? Even in Liberal Washington with their red taxation, they don't have income tax and collect everything from sales and property.

They are afraid to bump up the sales tax since it would hurt everyone in poverty the most. Property tax as well, but it's more indirect.

That's pretty much the case with liberals in the state of Washington who are vehemently trying to pass an income tax. If you have a college education, that is one of the better states to move to for that reason alone, and relatively low property taxes.

Sales tax is relatively moderate at 8.8% in seattle.

You wouldn't believe it's a liberal state, unless you knew the name. It's the most regressive state, and if you are middle class or higher, it is a pretty good choice (except for the fact, you will be surrounded by liberals at work.
