Eric Bana as Hulk 2003 (Did you like the movie "Hulk")
Eric Bana's "Hulk" from 2003.
I watched it once like 13 years ago when I was a teenager and thought it was good I guess? (Obviously don't remember every detail of what I watched in 2008), just saw it last night for the first time as an adult and I thought it was awesome. One of the best superhero movies I've ever seen. It's no Batman Begins but it is still pretty good.
Was it too sciencey to be considered cool?
Was EricBanaplaying BruceBannertoo much for the audience to understand from an analytical stand point?
What did you think of Hulk?

remember watching a pirated copy my uncle got for us, too much human and not enough hulk action imo, seemed like a real slow burner, especially compared to those GOAT Raimi Spider-Man movies that were out around that time, the few hulk scenes were fuking awesome though, especially when he fought those hulked up dindu ruffins

enjoyed it more than the lame ass 2008 one. the desert fight scene with the tanks and comanche helis is right up there with the best comic book action scenes ever.

I was really into the movie before it came out because it was at a time when there was a lot of chatter and hype about the next realistic looking CG character. The Hulk in this was supposed to be it. I remember Lee Priest was the model for it too.
Ultimately the CGI was cartoony and a dud (and CG characters aren't really much better today).
I thought some of the movie was really cool though. Loved the panels they did with different things going on. Cool way to make it like a comic book without being gimmicky. Some of the desert scenes were awesome. But overall it was pretty bad.

I think I remember him throwing a tank a few hundred feet and the guy in it just climbs out unharmed and I was surprised the impact didn't kill him. Is that actually in the movie or am I misremembering?

the hulk model is no where near as detailed as you'd find in CG today but the lighting and hulk's movement/weight/momentum were all done pretty well.

I hate "stand alone" superhero movies. I can't stand Batman being the only superhero, Joker wearing makeup, and all of that crap because billions of people know about the comics, we don't need to violate the basic stories and so on.
So, Hulk changed and ignored stuff, put some kind of daddy issues thing in, and Hulk looked like a pastel cartoon a little too much.
It was an okay movie, but just like other crappy DC and Marvel movies, I sit there watching going "okay, why did they change that" and so forth and it takes me out of enjoyment.

The deep fake thing works like that. It's on a cgi face but a real face manipulated by cgi.

So, you'd get that beautiful girl naked and see two Frankenstein boobs with massive scaring down the middle and giant scars around her nipples where they were cut off and sew back on.
I would rather be alone, lol.

That scene had the best CGI in the movie for sure. CGI today might have more detail, but it's really not any less cartoony still. Thanos looks like dogchit even though he has more detail. Shark King from the new The Suicide Squad trailer looks just as cartoony as Hulk did 18 years ago.

It was great.
Anyway, I mean for human type CGI beings, I don't get why they don't just use people and enhance their size and looks. I'm just curious why they don't do it.
In LOTR they did do that and I wasn't really thinking about it. However, when Gollum was there, I was thinking about it.

I remember being 15 with my friend, both drunk as fuking skunks, had just come back to his place from a friend's house. We were paranoid as schit of getting caught. His dad asks if we want to watch this movie. I remember practically nothing except the hulk jumping around in some ruined city, that's it. Never did really watch it.

There are quite a few secretly critically acclaimed movies like that that normies don't get.
What you watched was the best Hulk movie ever actually, probably why you liked it.
Was considered a masterpiece with deep and unique resonance.
Superhero movies initially became prominent because they explored a thesis that was profound with the back drop of comics.
Same thing with Superman Returns (exploring themes like being a God amonst men) as opposed to the basic superhero movies in the woke era. Was actually the rawest and best superman as far as art.
Back then there was a deep thesis in these films that rivaled high art piece films.
