just saw seaspiracy on netflix and it exposed the fishing industry and ocean environmental organizations

-fishing industry is killing off many ocean life by overfishing and dumping majority of plastic into ocean by their nets and equipment
-bycatch (catching non targeted species in nets) kill more whales, dolphins, sharks than actually hunting them
-ocean environmental groups dont mention this bc they are brought out by commercial fishing
-sustainable labels are bs cause they arent enforced and the ships lie and also brought out by commercial fishing
-commercial fishing is taking fish from africa leaving them nothing resulting in them resorting to piracy (westerners and asians doing it)
-fish farming is not efficient and uses more fish and produce alot of pollution and disease
-thai shrimp industry uses slave labor and corrupt cops turn a blind eye

we are always taught that seafood is more sustainable and we should eat more but its bs too so im prob gonna go vegetarian

That’s not all true. Plenty of seafood is perfectly fine to harvest still. Plenty of fish farms are very responsible. Look at the creative kings out of Vancouver island. It’s a completely separate deal then say the operation that didn’t repair their nets for a decade and looses all their farmed fish into the ocean.

I typically purchase my fish for my restaurant from day boats, it’s a lot different then the large operations.

It's exactly like every other industry. Corporate bloat and human greed lead to unsustainable practices.

Can you aware me on the similar Netflix documentary on how bad monocropping is? Or one on unsustainable agriculture with respect to plant-based foods?
