How often do randoms approach you in the gym to correct your form?

Just had a dude tell me that I should widen my grip on bench and my shoulders are supposed to hurt JFL

Interestingly enough the usual form-correcters are either some skinny fat manlets or bloated boomers who "used to bench 4 plates in their prime"

inb4 every miscer is the biggest guy in his gym etc.

An Older lady once tried to show me how to use the abduction machine. She had to be 65+, but in decent shape. I didn't ask for her help. It was in that moment I realized how much of a twink I really am

I haven't been in a public gym in years; just use 1 barbell at home for my S&C exercises.
I do remember one of the last times I was doing 5x5 of Push Press and some retard came to correct me on how to properly do Overhead Press.
I told him I was doing the Push Press and this moron thought it was the same thing as military press/ overhead press.

When I first started lifting when I was around 14/15 people would come up to me and help me out. I really appreciated their insight, really. I’m 20 now and I haven’t had anybody say anything to me about form since I started.

You really shouldn’t take offense though, they’re trying to do the right thing. It’s your fault you take it the wrong way.

Only ever had a dude ask me about my OHP, form looking for advice.

Had some old jacked dude come up to me and tell me to use less weight when I was doing curls and squeeze the **** out of the muscle in both directions. I was embarrassed af and almost quit lifting then later tried out what he said and started making gains.

People stop telling you anything after they see you bench 350lbs+ or squat/deadlifts above 450lbs+
No one has tried giving me tips because they are too intimidated lol srs

It’s only happened twice; I was 14 at the time and only just joined the gym. I looked like a deer in the headlights, so I wouldn’t count it as a bad thing.

If it happens to you as an adult tho, esp in this day and age, pick another hobby and rot.

Never had it happen. People should only be critiquing randoms if random's form is so bad that it's likely they will hurt themselves.

A woman told me I had the bar to high on my back like 10 years ago. She wasn’t wrong. That was literally the only time.

I don't but it's almost always the retarded broscience advice tho

"bro don't arch your back on bench, don't go that low on squats, inhale on the way down/exhale on the way up, don't go all the way down on pullups" etc.
