I saw the video. Not the kind of country I want to live in. Maybe this guy is a twat who should spend some time in jail for jogging. But citizens arrest is B.S. and either way they stalked him, and confronted him with weapons. That's way over the top. Someone breaks into your home and you kill them? Great. Someone jogging down the street after scoping out houses? Call the police. This ain't 1850 in some remote area. Clearly the police were aware of this guy judging by his record. Knowing that he was a habitual thief still doesn't change my mind. Dude jogged up on some shytbags wieldining firearms who were not police - was probably scared for his life. He was murdered. The old cop tries to tase him because he "didn't know he'd already been checked for weapons." That could easily have turned deadly because of his ignorance.

Ahmaud got way too uppity and belligerent, so he just made things worse for himself. But still, this should have at most been a friendly encounter.

This is absolutely the correct take.

With that said, it is a pretty scary state of affairs when ppl can't fairly evaluate the situation:

- he was not a good boy
- but the fact that he did some crimes does not justify his murders' actions; he should not have been killed and been deprived of life + due process; should have let our justice system work
- no he is not representative of black ppl in america (in the racist view that they are all criminals)
- no he should not be used to feed the fear-based narrative of "we are just minding our own business and white ppl are gunning us down and every single one of us is in danger"
