Put it in the oven instead. Stove top can work, but it's easy to end up with an overcooked bottom and a less than ideal, somewhat soggy top doing that. Definitely keep a glass cover on top of the pan if you're hellbent on sticking with the stovetop.

Your other basic cooking option is to be a lazy bastard by microwaving it to end up with a soggy disaster. Or, go full-on degenerate and eat it cold straight out of the fridge.

Well if he had a guargantuan pants cobra lurking within his gym shorts or whatever he's wearing in his kitchen today, he could perhaps use it to help control his cooking activity there while having his hands free. Then they could provide extra fast assistance with his cooking in conjunction with the cobra, or even do other tasks like washing some dishes or something.

I think I see your problem. It looks like you have your stove set to "boil" when you need it to be on "crisp."
