I drive a manual and I'm glad more people DONT drive them. Mainly because (at least in the US) it's a theft deterrent. Also, Most people on the road are either under the influence of some drug, too stupid/uncoordinated to drive a manual. Just think for a second how chitty most drivers are....now imagine if they were all driving manuals.

It's something like 85% of cars on the road are automatic 10% are commercial vehicles and 5% are normal folks driving a manual

Hell, you cant even buy corvettes or supercars (lambo/ferrari) in a manual anymore because even the old fogey boomers are getting too lazy.

Can't really give an accurate opinion because I've never drove a manual but it seems like a major hazzle playing with that limp stick every time you want to shift, brah. Miss me with that ****gy time.

It comes natural with time. It took me about a month of ONLY driving it and I dont even think about it. Also, it's really phuckin' fun.

For me, driving an automatic is what feels weird. I feel uncomfortable because of how little control I have over the car.

Kinda agree with full control. I like to drive in a way that puts me a bit closer to the driver in front of me(but in a safe way) and the radar sensor says to BRAKE. Miss me with that ****gy sensor.

This thread only ever goes one of two ways and this time OP came out ahead. The other half it’s nothing but continuous chitting on manual cars.

If you really love driving then sure a manual is for you, but modern automatics shift better than you can manually so it’s more for the driving enthusiast these days.

Feels so weird driving an auto. I always find myself stomping the floor beside the brake pedal with my clutch foot when I stop.

One time some crackhead or something broke into my car and took apart the steering column/ignition to the point where you could start it just by turning the mechanism. Can only assume they did all that work before realizing it was a manual.

Another common reason “autos shift faster”

The faster car will win no matter the gear box. At least on a roll race. Digs the auto will take it all things being equal

On the highway shifting speed makes less of an impact unless you’re literally granny shifting not double clutching like you should. People can shift quickly af and redline their car easily.

It's so fuking easy. Why wouldn't you learn it? You get an auto and a manual licensed once you pass. It's a no brainer. Lol

I wouldn’t say it’s easy when you first start. Hills with no hill assist can be scary lol.

But once you’ve reached mastery there’s literally no reason to switch to auto. It’s completely second nature to me. It’s a joy to drive.

Men should be able to drive manual.

Imagine having to get a woman to drive for you because "its gay to touch anything that resembles a shaft of a penis"
