How do I break away from the "lifter" identity ?

So me and my wife (no pics) are in a group chat with 4 other couples. We got invited out to dinner with them tomorrow and the host said "Loochi, you can bring your raisens with you xD" and some sloot chimes in "Might be too calorilific, make sure to measure them, I got your back bro" (wtf lol) - Now I never talk about lifting or nutrition in real life and especially with this group specifically (buncha Muslim Arabs lol). On the misc however, that's all I like to post about hence my cringy posts. The only reason I can think of for them to bring that sorta sh!t up was because in 2020 I was prepping for a bodybuilding show so I brought some food with me like a ph4gg0t to one of their events. But it was ONE time literally.. I'd understand if all I did was talk about lifting but I legit don't (other than the misc srs)

In anycase, I wanted to say something smart ass about Ramadan which would really trigger them but that'd be immature and petty as fuark. I know it's light hearted but it makes me roll my eyes because now I'm seen as that "guy".

Maybe I'm missing something ? This is why I came to seek the great misc for advice.. You guys always say it how it is and I might learn something or two.

Cheers

No, don't bring religion into this.

Honestly, you've done nothing wrong. But for people who don't lift having someone over that brings their own food gives them enough fuel to keep rambling on and on even years later. They are very unaware about prepping for a competition and to them chit like that is just next level, over the top, like you're a freak of some sort because you want to flex your muscles in front of strangers for points.

Best to just ignore their "jokes", not worth your time.

So what is it... Stay home, or stop giving a fuk? If you stop giving a fuk you can just go ahead and have your tupperware meals at your friends' place

It's because you are that guy, they gotta unload their ******** meme knowledge of bodybuilders on someone and you fit the bill.

Whats wrong with being that guy tho, who gives a chit. It's a bit of light banter, dno why this is even an issue.

What did you reply?

I'm serious when I need to be (prepping for a show) I am not competing this year, pro show cancelled and honestly it's a blessing in disguise because I don't feel like prepping again... I legit just want to look good in clothes now. Work on arms etc

Bro I don't care what they think, well I care to an extent if I ahve to make a thread and ask the misc right ? I don't want to just stay at home bro lol. I enjoy going out with my wife and son and I only take one meal with me IF I am prepping for a show, IF. Last show was 2020, the one before that was 2013, rest of the time I never do that. Btw bro, what is it "cringy" ?

Yeah I guess so bro.. I guess because no one else in the group gets that sorta **** ya know ? Like if they said EOD is that guy and Loochi is that guy and BigMane is that guy.. Hey, I get it. But no one else gets given 'sh!t' if that makes sense. I didn't reply.. I mean, it didn't rile me up THAT bad, but I've noticed it's a reoccuring theme with that group especially

Meh. I’d have probably just said “don’t worry I’ll have my protein shake already mixed up.” Or “i’ll drink my protein shake prior to arriving”

Just make a joke of it and move on. Nothing would be worse than getting defensive or insulting their religion lmao

Oh yeah I get it, could be a good thing, maybe you're the only one with something interesting to make fun of, maybe they think you're better than them. Maybe they hate you and think you're a *******.

Just joke back with them. For example:

"LOL maybe you should worry about your own calories ya dumb fat kunt"

Why are you so incredibly sensitive lol? Did you never have friends who made fun of every little social faux pas you made and vice versa? You seem to have enough self awareness to realize that you are that guy to them. Return fire or just think about nihilism - we're all going to be worm food soon anyway. What does it matter?

Freshman year of college, my buddy put a Simple Plan track on his "party playlist" that he actually played at a party and I thought that was the funniest chit ever. I still bring it up to this day (people don't forget) and last year bought him an autographed poster. Cool story, huh?

It was this homo anthem:
