Question for lifters regarding decline DB bench

How do you guys actually get the damn dumbbells in position for decline? Everytime I do it with heavy ass weight it feels like my rotator cuffs are going to snap, I put it on a neutral position standing up and proceed to lift and carry it while I'm already decline

Lmk if im doing it wrong

I sit on the bench with them in my lap. Then I ease back and let them more or less slide down my body until they're in position.

would need to prop up the dumbbells on to something, depending on the decline bench it can be awkward to to get onto the bench with them in your hand. I've seen people prop the dumbbells on top of other dumbbells on each side so it's easier to hoist up.

Just the same as doing a normal flat bench DB, dude, just make sure your feet are locked into something.

Nothing gives me a greater lower pec pump than decline db. No. 2 is forward learning dips with flat hands (not gripping it on a bar, but a platform of some sort)

Get one dumbbell in place with both hands and ask someone to pass the 2nd one to you when you're in position.

I personally don't find much value in decline bench anyway, especially if you're already doing weighted dips

good morning brah. Maybe you haven't had your coffee or tradie juice yet, but you clearly don't understand what OP is asking. Hope that helps.

I dont sub anything for it, it’s a worthless movement to me. Most guys only do decline to ego lift slightly more than they can do on flat or because they believe in “lower chest”. I won’t go as far to say it serves no purpose for anyone, but for me, it just doesn’t provide any chest activation I cant get on flat or inlcine.

Have never done a decline bench of any kind.

Don't even know why you would except for ego lift.

^^^ I kinda agree with Drew23.

After all each pec is one single unit of muscle unit.

Upper/lower pec training is a myth.

-------------------

That said, while decline DB bench press isn't everyone's choice of exercise,

I understand that every man's got to do what he's got to do.

-------------------

Maybe a flat bench with a big arch would do.

What he's doing is basically a decline bench.

However I'd rather recommend this woman's form

than that of the man's above,

for decent arch means decent ROM (range of motion).

After all, exercise is for training not for the record or competition.

Good luck.
