Never understood why males would voluntarily play as a female in a video game. It's one thing to play as a female because there's no male version for a sorceress, amazon, and assassin in Diablo 2, but - when given the choice - to choose a female character over a male one?

We live vicariously through our created characters in video games. They are us - an extension of us.
Many an anecdotes have been told about dudes who play female characters ending up gay, or transitioning into a woman.

Nerds/Virgins bro. I remember back in the early days of LAN's (the early 2000s) most guys had half-naked chicks as their wallpapers. I always found it hilarious. Also, recently, in CS:GO you can get/buy female characters so it's become a trend.

In my experience they low-key enjoy the attention by virgin players unsure of their gender and rarely correct them. It is actually very sad. This includes female character names. It is borderline video game catfishing.

Often play female in some rpg's to see if they offer variations in story or conversations etc. Always play male first though.

Agreed. I sort of felt weird playing Horizon on the PS4, but other than that,I never play games being a female character. No thanks. Have a good friend, we both grew up with gaming and he refused to play that game due to having to be a woman stunning around. OP, stop agreeing with me on everything.

Don't really play video games. Used to know this guy though that did, he always played as women. I'd roast him all the time for it. One day he broke down and started crying. At first I was like fight me then if you have a problem, then I saw he was actually hurting so I was like take as many free shots as you want dude, he just went home.
