What's the shadiest chit you've ever seen your boss do?

circa 2009 Working at a big box electronic retailer (You all know this company)

My store manager would regularly mark new products as open box, and then sell them to himself using his employee discount and tacking on the "open box" discount as well. I'm not sure what the typical discount is for "open box", but I know he had a certain level of discretion as to what price he could set them at.

Shortly before black Friday, He had all of the employees pick out which black friday items they wanted from the ad and write them down on a sheet of paper, and once the items came in, he would "open box" discount the items, and then add on the employee discount on top of the black friday discount, and allow the employees to buy them at this insanely discounted price. Mind you that this was 1-3 days before Black Friday, so that means that all of the employees had first dibs on any of the products that were supposed to be on discount during the Black Friday Sale.

Just LOL

People were buying everything from TV's to car audio systems, to Digital SLR cameras and everything in between for at or near 40-50% off.

The open box+employee discounts were a year round thing though.

Saw him walk into the office with an hbb that worked with us. After he came up to me and told me got a bj. Then his wife pulled up, thought it was pretty messed up. He was like 25 and I was 16, didn't know why he came and spoke to me about it.

got hired straight from iraq to work in middle america as a chief facility manager with no experience and never having supervised before (do wut), misrepresent a gov't clearance (if he ever had one, a TS/SCI no less), outright deny ever playing favorites, offering whites $7 less an hour for the same job who even had more certs, buy and turn on a bunch of heaters in a datacenter (just wot) encourage ppl to skip or postpone or miss their weekend drill and did the most egregious chit over the phone so obviously he knew not to put anything in writing. just that.

I was the head bartender at a club. I was always getting chewed out for liquor cost despite taking multiple measures to track and prevent loss. I caught one of the managers taking a cardboard box filled with high end liquor from the bar to his car one night. It was probably $500 of liquor that one night.

A little later I started tracking my tip outs. A tip out is the money the cocktail waitresses give the bartender for making their drinks. It averaged $50-100 on a busy Friday night. Every night the manager that was stealing liquor worked, our tip outs were $12-13 dollars. I hung out in the walk in cooler with the door cracked across from the office and watched him pocket about a $100 of our tip money.

Giving away product to a customer and receiving free housing from that customer's rental property lmao.

So many more examples but that one sticks out as the most criminal.

Edit: once heard of a gym manager who was wiring gym membership dues directly to his personal bank account hahahaha. Fukin yolo.

Na, she had messed up teeth but a banging body. Her mom was hot too. Her dad drove a ****gy Honda s2000 though. He pulled up to me once on the road and stared yelling at me once. I rolled up my window and acted like I didn't know him.

1st boss - saw him drop some wings on the floor that were for an order that was late, proceed to pick them up and serve them.

2nd boss - always saw him walk past my aisle while I was stocking shelves around 3-4am while everyone was at lunch, i thought damn he works hard putting all that stuff on the shelves while everyone else eats. saw him go by again a few nights later in hand cuffs with several officers. lol'd a bit after that

3rd boss - before i started, they had a few roofs put on some apartment complexes that were all leaking horribly the summer i took over. i took one of his employees to inspect them and we saw some of the most questionable and shady craftsmanship. they were flat rubber roofs and there was all sorts of equipment left behind, nails, sharp objects, parts simply not finished, some apartment light fixtures were filling with water, breakers were tripping, the sharp objects were just reeking havoc on that roof every time there was a storm. after confronting the boss about it, asking some hard questions and whether the roof was even inspected, i was fired a few days later. unrelated to this apparently lol

Had a boss that was a CFO of our company (not my current company). He would order double the stuff we would need like lens wipes and office supplies and just take half. He would go out to the supply cabinet and fill his pockets with aspirin and stuff, he would steal work gloves.

He also was in charge of HR, and he had his illegal immigrant girlfriend put onto our company insurance as his wife.

He would also manipulate the 401K pool so that he could always put in more than would normally be allowed.

That's just the things I remember.

One weekend the boss had me clean out an old part of the warehouse where techs would put busted heat exchangers for boats, copper-nickel mostly. He told me to bring it to the scrap yard, go grab some lunch and head back. I had 7 totes worth and it ended up being like 8k worth of scrap. I got a nice lunch and gave the boss the rest of the cash. Next week we are at a meeting and they announce an award for me that I cleaned out the warehouse and got 2500 worth of scrap in the process. I was floored, lmao they gave me a 250 dollar check for the effort. The bossman took me out to lunch again that day, I never mentioned a thing.
