USPS being used to monitor/spy

Interestingly, Snowden just came out with a warning about devices and social media. The USPS Is now being used as an arm of the law. Collecting information and handing it over to other branches. Time to bury the USPS once and for all. I am going out of my way to avoid using them anymore. Unfortunately, they will just divert more tax money to it, creating a monopoly. I believe this also helps conclude that we are living in a police state.

"The details of the surveillance effort, known as iCOP, or Internet Covert Operations Program, have not previously been made public. The work involves having analysts trawl through social media sites to look for what the document describes as “inflammatory” postings and then sharing that information across government agencies."

The article then goes on to say they are "closely monitoring anyone looking to protest this..."

Ya, that is scary **** about all this monitoring. Especially when youtube or even google recommends you searches for products or keywords you never typed in, but picked up during conversations you had with people.

Don't worry, if they can't track mail through their own system, how are they going to track all of us?

They can't be bothered delivering in the first place. Either dump it in the most convenient mailbox, or throw the whole truckload away. And you think they're not too lazy to read through all the social media sites out there?

why the fuk is the postal service running it? that is stupid

also there is no way this is the only program doing this, there are probably similiar programs doing the same thing, there is no way the postal service is running the sole social media monitoring program, which means this is a waste of fuking money even ignoring the spying on citizens ethics part, its still fuking stupid and indicative of government bureaucracy and wasted resources to have the fuking post office running an unclassified social media program when all the intel and fed police agencies certainly have their own

why dont they just create a post office ran weather center or some chit while they are at it, that would be equally as useful
